Jack Dorsey’s Chick-fil-A tweets are being criticized by both sides of the political spectrum after he used the fast food restaurant to illustrate a feature of his company, Square.

Dorsey tweeted a screenshot of his Chick-fil-A receipt over the weekend to show a “boost,” or cash back from using the Square debit card, and drew the ire of some on the left who didn’t think he should support a company that has spoken out for traditional marriage.

Starfish Media CEO and former CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien tweeted, “This is an interesting company to boost during Pride month, @jack.”

Others asked whether he was going to give free advertising to GLAAD, an LGBT advocacy organization.

But after Dorsey responded to O'Brien's tweet, saying, “You’re right. Completely forgot about their background,” he got backlash from the other side, which defended Chick-fil-A and praised their food.

Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy said in 2012 that the company supports traditional marriage and ended donations to anti-LGBT groups that same year.
