Irene Bedard, best known as the actor who lent her voice to Pocahontas in the Disney animated film, was arrested twice over the span of three days for domestic violence, assault, and disorderly conduct.
The first incident took place on Friday when the 53-year-old showed up at her ex-husband's house in Beavercreek, Ohio, and began banging on the door, according to a police report obtained by TMZ on Wednesday. She then started to yell at their 17-year-old son. He tried to restrain her, but Bedard allegedly kicked him.
Police responding to a possible domestic dispute arrived at the scene to find the actor with a belt in her hand. According to the report, she was intoxicated and combative. Bedard, who is an Alaskan native, kicked and screamed as police tried to arrest her and reportedly yelled "Look, they sent the white man to come get me!"
She was charged with domestic violence, assault, and resisting arrest but posted bond.
On Monday police responded to a second incident involving Bedard, who was reportedly drunk and harassing a hotel front desk clerk. She grew aggressive when police tried to reason with her and had to be pinned down so that she could be cuffed. Several officers had to assist in taking her down to the station. Bedard was charged with disorderly conduct.
Bedard has appeared in various films and TV shows. In addition to voicing the title character in "Pocahontas," she was also cast in the Academy Award-nominated film, "Tree of Life," Stephen Spielberg's "Into the West," as well as "The Spectacular Spider-Man," "Longmire," "Westworld," and "FBI: Most Wanted," according to IMDB.
