"In Dog We Trust" was mistakenly emblazoned on a pricey rug made for a Florida sheriff's office instead of "In God We Trust."
According to CNN affiliate WFTS-TV, a deputy noticed the typo hiding in the green and gold logo of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, subtly stitched into a centerpiece rug that greeted visitors at the entrance.
Department spokeswoman Cecilia Barreda said the rug cost roughly $500, and that they'd contacted the manufacturer, American Floor Mats, to get to the bottom of the carpet caper.
"It has been brought to our attention, and we're working to fix it," department spokeswomen Cristen Smith
told the New York Daily News.
The manufacturer promptly responded, and said a replacement is on the way.
It's unclear what will be done with the old rugs, but if the department has a K9 unit they might be literally for the dogs.
