Comedian Iliza Shlesinger held a women-only comedy event last month in California, but now she’s getting sued for it.

The show was promoted as “Girls Night In with Iliza” and advertised as “No Boys Allowed,” Variety reported. An attorney, who has filed lawsuits against clubs that offer “ladies’ nights,” contends Shlesinger’s comedy show violated California law when it barred men.

George St. George purchased a ticket for the Nov. 13 show at the Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles, the lawsuit by attorney Alfred Rava states, Variety reported. When St. George and a male friend tried to enter the show, they were first told they could sit in the back, and later, they were denied seating and offered a refund, according to the lawsuit.

St. George has been involved as a plaintiff in several lawsuits that challenge “ladies’ nights” at bars and other establishments, according to Variety, which also reported Rava has filed similar suits. He once told CNN he filed 150 complaints against businesses violating the Unruh Civil Rights Act of 1959. The California Supreme Court ruled in 1985 that “ladies’ nights” discounts violate the act.

Rava maintains that turning away St. George and his friend also violates the Unruh Civil Rights Act, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The attorney wrote that it is against California law for businesses “to discriminate against patrons based on their sex” or other characteristics, THR reported. He also claims the women-only show “repudiated hundreds of years of women’s struggles to be viewed as being equal to men,” calling it “old-fashioned sexism” in the 14-page complaint. He said his client is a victim of Shlesinger’s “war on men.”

Largo at the Coronet is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit. St. George seeks an injunction preventing the defendants from practicing unequal treatment of consumers based on sex. The order could require the defendants to undergo sex discrimination sensitivity training.
