By    |   Tuesday, 06 May 2014 04:08 PM EDT

After a bridge on I-15 caught fire and collapsed Monday, travelers between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Nevada, have been told to use alternate routes while crews tear down the rest of the bridge.

Specifically, travel is being restricted in the Cajon Pass area after a cutting torch is believed to have started the fire on a wooden portion of the bridge that was under construction early Monday afternoon, causing the bridge to partially collapse twice, The Los Angeles Times reported.
