The death of Osama bin Laden is tailor-made for Hollywood, and Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow could be first out of the gate.
Bigelow, who helmed last year’s Best Picture, ‘The Hurt Locker,’ was already working on a film about the hunt for the terrorist kingpin when he was killed on Sunday.
And now she is making up her mind whether to include his death, the
Los Angeles Times reports.
The bin Laden movie — so far untitled — will center on the “black ops” pursuit of bin Laden, says the Times.
Hollywood’s two trade papers are divided about whether Bigelow will include the Navy SEALs’ successful 40-minute assault on the compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, in her film.
The Hollywood Reporter says the movie is about a failed operation to kill bin Laden, while Variety says it will definitely conclude with the firefight and the bloody end of Osama’s reign of terror.
