A photo of a Hood County, Texas, utility worker submerged head first in muddy water has gone viral.

Andrea Adams snapped the photo of 23-year-old Jimmie Cox submerged from the waist up as he was trying to plug a one-inch pipe that had burst, WFAA-TV reported.

"When I walked back outside, the kid was in there," Adams told the station.

She posted the unusual photo on Facebook, and it has drawn so much attention that she has since shut down her Facebook and turned off her email, WFAA-TV said.

Cox said he was surprised by the attention.

"In this line of work, people do it a lot," he told the station.

The Acton Municipal Utility District worker said he responded to the call to get overtime and arrived to find water everywhere.

The photo even got the attention of Mike Rowe, former host of "Dirty Jobs," who posted about it on Facebook, offering to buy the man a beer.

Wrangler commented on Rowe's post, saying, "You buy the beer, Mike, and we'll get him some new jeans."

The company also posted about the photo on Twitter.

Twitter users were very impressed and entertained by the image.
