Fans of the popular HBO series "True Detective" were left clueless after the network's streaming service, HBO GO, went down during the series' finale on Sunday.
The series, starring newly minted Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, was averaging 10.9 million viewers before Sunday's final episode,
according to The Hollywood Reporter.

When viewers tried to log on to HBO GO to watch the series online, they were greeted with a "fatal error" message. It was not known how many users were unable to log in.
HBO acknowledged the problems with HBO GO toward the end of the show.
Fans took to social media to vent their frustrations.
TheWire.com speculated that the problem may have been more widespread than just HBO GO.
"But there are greater forces at work here than just a glitch," TheWire.com reported. "The infrastructure that allows HBO Go to function, is not HBO's own. The streaming service, and associated operations like customer service and billing — even authenticating logins — is handled by cable companies like Time Warner and Optimum.
"So if you're really mad about the outage, it's probably not worth writing an angry missive to HBO. You might just want to yell at your cable company. Again. For, like, the thousandth time," the website continued.
