Americans love to grill but what do the love most e sizzling on the grate? Steak apparently, a new survey revealed. The answer was determined by Grill Cook Bake, which polled 3,900 Americans to discover what their favorite grilled foods were.
Of those participating in the survey, just over 1 in 3 respondents (34%) said steak. The next best thing is hamburgers, according to 19% of those surveyed, while chicken was rated as the third option (18%).Ribs came in fourth at 11%, followed by bratwurst (6%) and hot dogs (55). Pork chops were the least favored food to grill, according to 3% of participants. Even grilled pineapple had more favorite picks than pork (4%).
The next question was how Americans like their steak served. Medium rare was the most common choice, according to just over 27% of participants. Second was medium (25.6%), with medium well as third (23.5%), and well done as fourth (19.4%). Rare did not score high, with just 4.2% of respondents choosing to have their steak served this way.
When it came to an all-American choice between hamburgers and hot dogs, hamburgers were the clear choice, with 81% picking them.
