While Google's cheeseburger emoji isn't new, it stirred up controversy over the weekend when a news writer and media analyst tweeted about how its cheese was positioned.
Thomas Baekdal tweeted on Saturday that Google's placement of the cheese on its burger emoji was different than Apple's and sparked a discussion on Twitter that even caught the attention of Google CEO Sundar Pichai, according to CNN.
"I think we need to have a discussion about how Google's burger emoji is placing the cheese underneath the burger, while Apple puts it on top," Baekdal tweeted.
The post generated more than 1,700 comments and was retweeted 19,000 times since it was made, leading Pichai to tweet very early Sunday morning, "Will drop everything else we are doing and address on Monday :) if folks can agree on the correct way to do this!"
Twitter users had a lot of fun debating the point as well as making jokes about the whole thing.
The Verge said Google should explain why its beer emoji showed a half-empty glass, but still had foam on top.
