President Barack Obama and former president Bill Clinton teamed up at the Farm Neck Golf Club on Martha's Vineyard for a round on Saturday, leaving Hillary Clinton to fend for herself at the Iowa State Fair.

The two presidents played as Obama enjoyed a two-week vacation, according to The Associated Press. They were joined by civil rights activist Vernon Jordan on the course, and both leaders reportedly attended Jordan's 80th birthday party on Saturday evening.

Former U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk completed Obama's foursome on the course, Reuters reported.

"Obama and Clinton have golfed together at least three times since the current president entered office, including January 2013, shortly after Obama's re-election," the news agency noted. "Obama and the former president overcame a once-tense relationship stemming from the 2008 Democratic presidential primary race in which the then-U.S. senator beat the former first lady for their party's nomination."

Obama and Clinton could be seen chatting and gesturing as reporters looked on at the start of their golf game.

On Friday, Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry played a round with Obama along with his father and former NBA star Dell Curry and retired NBA great Ray Allen, according to the blog TerezOwens.com.

Earlier this month, Obama enjoyed a round of golf with "Seinfeld" creator and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star Larry David, according to People magazine.

"One of the reasons I think presidents like golf is that it takes too much time," Clinton said back in January during an appearance on a late-night talk show, according to ABC News. "And you cannot think about anything else. Every mind needs some release. So I think it's a good thing."

Some wondered aloud on social media if the Obama-Clinton golf game had anything to do with Hillary Clinton's struggles on the campaign trail as she fights an insurgent campaign from Bernie Sanders and an email controversy that continues to dog her.
