The sequel to this summer’s hit movie "Godzilla" will keep fans waiting until June 8, 2018, Warner Brothers and Legendary Films announced this week.
The follow-up to the May 2014 release of “Godzilla,” which has earned $508 million worldwide, will reportedly include the original monster along with three others –
Mothra, Rodan and Ghidorah, Variety said.

The trailer to the sequel released in July shows plenty of the explosions and dramatic destruction, as expected from a Godzilla movie, and this time there’s a space mystery that talks about the awakening of something brought back from man’s first moon visit.
“You can't ask for a better situation when you have a group of people, who were perhaps expecting to be let down were impressed,” Legendary President and Chief Creative Officer Jon Jashni told Variety.com of the popularity of the first movie. “It all lines up when that eco-system aligns and starts feeding off itself. It's very validating.”
With such success — the first "Godzilla" was made for about $160 million — it was no surprise when a sequel was announced in May.
Fans were excited to get a release date, even if it is quite a ways out.
