Glenn Beck, who last month said dealing with Donald Trump was like "dealing with a third grader," was trying to ignore this week's return volley from the Republican presidential candidate.
Trump has used social media like Twitter to attack opponents and on Thursday he turned to Twitter to call Beck "a real nut job."
Beck responded to the rant on his website
The Blaze by saying: "It is beneath me to respond to this."
Beck criticized Trump in early September and complained that he wouldn't come on his radio show, according to

"I'm telling you, dealing with Donald Trump is like dealing with a third grader," Beck said then. "And I'm not dealing with a third grader anymore because the world is on fire. Enough of the third-grade politics. Grow up, Donald Trump. Grow up."
The New York Times quoted Beck on Wednesday saying he is now no longer interested in having Trump as a radio show guest.
"I think he's a schoolyard bully who does not reflect any of the values and principles that I see from Americans on both sides," said Beck. "He's not a Tea Party guy."
Erick Erickson, who runs the conservative website RedState.com, said in the Times piece that he believed Trump's consistent – but stagnant – poll numbers show that people are likely tiring of his rhetoric.
"It's kind of a like a season of TV shows: Eventually, people burn out on them," said Erickson. "We've had a season of Trump and the plot hasn't changed, there's no new twist, and people are starting to move on to other TV shows."
