A Girl Scout cookie sale outside a marijuana dispensary in Oregon raised some eyebrows, but its sign "Satisfy Your Munchies" deserves a merit badge.

An enterprising girl in Portland sold the cookies in front of Foster Buds Marijuana Dispensary, nabbing several customers shortly after the table was set up, KATU-TV reported on Saturday.

Oregon joined a small group of states last year that decriminalized the possession and growing of marijuana, noted The Oregonian. The new state law allows anyone 21 and older to possess and grow cannabis and directs the state to create a regulated industry that produces and sells marijuana for recreational use.

"The Girl Scouts organization said they don't condone this, but it's not against the rules," the aunt of the cookie-selling scout told KATU-TV. "It seems like people are happy we're here."

The dispensary encouraged the cookie sales on its Facebook page, announcing it would offer a special to customers who purchased the cookies.

At mostly $4 a box, Girl Scout cookies fund projects nationwide as well serving as a teaching tool, noted the Girl Scout website.

"When girls participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program, they get more than new adventures," said the website. "They develop important life skills – goals goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics – that will set them up for success beyond anything they can imagine."

Sarah Miller, a spokeswoman for the Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington, told The Oregonian that scouts are better off in front of grocery stores or similar establishments and that cookies stands in front of marijuana dispensaries are rare.

"Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington recommends that if a minor cannot enter a premises unaccompanied, she should not sell Girl Scout Cookies in front of the premises," said Miller.
