"Gangnam Style," the 2012 hit by South Korean entertainer Psy, has broken YouTube's view counter.

According to CNN, the YouTube music video surpassed 2,147,483,647 views, maxing out the site's original view counter.

"We never thought a video would be watched in numbers greater than a 32-bit integer (=2,147,483,647 views), but that was before we met Psy. 'Gangnam Style' has been viewed so many times we had to upgrade to a 64-bit integer (9,223,372,036,854,775,808)!" YouTube owner Google wrote in a blog post on Monday.

Google spokesman Matt McLernon reassured CNN that the milestone hasn't actually caused any problems for YouTube. Now, when a user hovers their mouse over the "Gangnam Style" view counter, they'll see a spinning wheel of numbers instead of one figure.

"Nothing actually broke," McLernon said. "There was never anything that actually went wrong. It's just people having fun with the language."

Psy told Harvard University students last year that the success of the music video was an accident, NME reported.

"'Gangnam Style' was not normal," Psy said, according to NME. "'Gangnam' was not standard — that was an accident and accidents don't happen often."

The clip remains the most-watched video of all time on YouTube.

Twitter users commented on the feat.
