Frank Ancona, a KKK imperial wizard, was shot to death, and his body was found Saturday by a family fishing near Belgrade, Missouri. His wife, and stepson are reportedly being charged with murder.
Malissa Ann Ancona, 44, and Paul Edward Jinkerson Jr., 24, both were charged with first-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence, and abandonment of a corpse after Jinkerson allegedly shot Frank Ancona while he slept Thursday morning, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. Malissa Ancona allegedly helped dump the body and clean up, according to the newspaper.
A U.S. Forest Service employee reportedly found Frank Ancona's vehicle in Potosi, Missouri, the Park Hills Daily Journal reported.
Melissa Ancona reportedly posted on Facebook seeking a roommate and told police that she did so because her husband was going out of town for work and had told her that when he returned he would file for divorce, the Daily Journal reported.
When police searched Ancona’s home after his body was found, they discovered the home’s safe broken into and Ancona's guns and cash missing, according to the newspaper. The gun Ancona usually used was found in the home.
Frank Ancona, who was 51, identified himself as the imperial wizard of the Traditionalist Black Knights of the Klu Klux Klan. He had previously made headlines battling with other KKK leaders and insisting that although he believed in white supremacy, he did not hate minorities and Jews. Ancona also drew attention for handing out fliers at the 2014 Ferguson protests that said the group would not tolerate violence and would defend themselves with lethal violence if necessary, according to The Kansas City Star.
