Friends of the 1970s television star and sex symbol Farrah Fawcett gathered to celebrate the late actress five years after her death at a Beverly Hill reception, which included her longtime partner Ryan O'Neal.
O'Neal, 73, was joined by Fawcett's former "Charlie Angels" co-star Jaclyn Smith, 68, and close friend Alana Stewart, who is a member of Farrah Fawcett Foundation board, at the reception,
according to the Daily Mail. Fawcett died on June 25, 2009 at 62 after a long battle with cancer.
"I celebrate the life of my beautiful, quirky, funny, brilliant friend Farrah today as I do every day," another "Charlie Angels" co-star Kate Jackson told
People magazine in a statement published Wednesday. "Though I'm not in Los Angeles and won't be able to attend the memorial, I will certainly be there in spirit and with love! Her memory is always with me, I carry her in my heart."

Model Cheryl Tiegs, who shared the 70's sex symbol spotlight with Fawcett during that era, added her tribute to the actress on Twitter.
Kurt Schlosser, of "
Today," reported that Fawcett was not only an icon of the 1970s, but her talented was recognized by her peers as well.
"Five years later, it's worth remembering Fawcett . . . as the pinup who won us over with a legendary poster in the '70s, and as an actress who stood out among 'Charlie's Angels,'" Schlosser wrote.
"After just one season on that ABC series, Fawcett was a star. She went on to achieve critical success elsewhere on television, including an Emmy nod for the 1984 movie 'The Burning Bed.' With her trademark megawatt smile and eviable head of feathered and flappable hair, Farrah's beauty helped her achieve celebrity icon status in a time before sex tapes and selfies," Schlosser continued.
