A Florida man who allegedly murdered his wife posted a photo of her body on Facebook Thursday along with a confession.

Derek Medina, 31, of South Miami, uploaded a photo to his Facebook page Thursday morning of a woman bent backwards on a kitchen floor with blood covering her arm and face. "Rip Jennifer Alfonso," he captioned it.

"I'm going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife love you guys miss you guys take care Facebook people you will see me in the news," he wrote in a separate post on the social networking site. "My wife was punching me and I am not going to stand anymore with the abuse so I did what I did I hope you understand me."

Police responded to the scene after Medina turned himself in at the South Miami police station following the murder. According to his arrest affidavit, the couple began arguing in an upstairs bedroom around 10 a.m. Thursday. Medina and Alfonso had always had a rocky relationship, having been divorced and remarried to each other, friends told CBS Miami.

During the fight, Medina said he pointed a gun at Alfonso, at which time she said she was leaving him and turned to go downstairs. Medina followed her into the kitchen where, he claims, she began punching him and threatened him with a knife. He then shot her several times.

Police found Alfonso's 10-year-old daughter in the home along with her mother's body. The girl was not hurt.

The online photo and confession drew a handful of stunned comments from Medina and Alfonso's friends until Facebook removed the picture.

"The content was reported to us. We took action on the profile — removing the content and disabling the profile, and we reached out to law enforcement," read a statement from Facebook released to CBS Miami. "We take action on all content that violates our terms, which are clearly laid out on our site."

Neighbors said Medina often walked around with a concealed weapon like some sort of watchman.

"He's always there late night and he's weird to me," neighbor Yoshi Dade told NBC Miami. "He's always kind of looking around and trying to be a hero."
