PGA competitor and two-time heart transplant recipient Erik Compton stars in a new promo for National Donate Life Month that encourages everyday people to become organ donors.
The minute-long public service announcement
was created by Donate Life America, and highlights Compton's transplant story alongside other athletes of all ages.
Because of liver, kidney, heart, and other donations, the athletes were able to overcome their aliments, and return to the field.
Compton, 35, was diagnosed with an inflamed heart muscle at the age of nine, and underwent one transplant in 1992 and another in 2008.
More than 123,000 men, women, and children are awaiting organ transplants, according to Donate Life America.
