Erica Walker, a property manager supervising at a residential community pool in Memphis, was fired after calling the cops on a black man wearing socks, according to reports.

The incident took place on July 4 at Riverset Apartments but the woman was axed Thursday after video footage went viral on social media, Newsweek reported.

Camry Porter, who posted the footage on Facebook, said she, her boyfriend Kevin Yates and her two godchildren were singled out because they were the only black family sitting by the pool.

Yates was reportedly sitting by the poolside, dangling his feet in the water, when Walker approached him and told him to remove his socks as it was a violation of the dress code, USA Today reported.

When Porter asked Walker what the issue was, the property manager said that "no socks, T-shirts, hats, or things of that nature are allowed in the pool," USA Today reported.

However, Porter said that many other people in the pool area were wearing clothing in violation of the dress code.

She challenged Walker's comments and the property manager reportedly asked the family to leave the pool. When they refused, Walker reportedly called the police, stating that Porter was disturbing the peace, according to Porter's Facebook post.

Twenty minutes later an officer arrived and, while he said no laws had been broken, Porter decided to leave regardless, USA Today said.

Days after Porter posted footage of the confrontation to Facebook, Riverset Apartment released a statement announcing that Walker had been terminated from her position with them.

"After assessing statements from Ms. Porter and determining that this former employee’s actions violate our company’s policies and beliefs, she is no longer employed by Riverset Apartments," the statement posted on Facebook read.

The incident comes amid a string of similar ordeals which have been slammed as racist.

Most recently, Alison Ettel, famously known as "Permit Patty" received an onslaught of hate mail and death threats after she confronted a young black girl and her mother selling bottled water in the streets of San Francisco as a fundraising initiative.
