"Bachelorette" contestant Eric Hill died Wednesday after a paragliding accident on Sunday that left him in a coma. The California native was just 32 years old.

Hill was known for being an adventurer who aimed to visit every country around the world in a 1,200-day expedition he called "The Global Odyssey."

Hill's death was confirmed by his sister Karen Tracy via a Facebook post on Thursday.

The incident reportedly occurred in Utah. Hill's parachute collapsed while he was paragliding with a friend. He was apparently not filming "The Bachelorette" at the time of the accident, ABC News reported.

"The Bachelorette" Season 10 will premiere on ABC on May 19.

According to a study last spring, veteran New York journalist Seth Kaufman found that since 2005, 14 reality TV celebrities had committed suicide.

"It’s a vastly higher suicide rate than the national average. In fact, it appears to be more than three times the national average," Kaufman told Newsmax.

The underlying reasons for the suicides are unclear.
