Emily Deschanel might play a forensic anthropologist on her hit TV show "Bones," but the 37-year-old actress would probably fare pretty well as a real crime expert.
Red carpet hosts Tim Gunn and SuChin Pak presented Deschanel with a tray of paper bones as she stopped for an interview on her way into the People's Choice Awards Wednesday night. They challenged the actress to use Gunn's body as a model and match the bones to where they actually belong.
Deschanel easily showed off where the clavicle, sternum, and zygoma bones belong without even breaking a sweat, proving that her nine years playing Dr. Temperance Brennan on the Fox crime drama have rubbed off on her.

"I know you've been on the show forever, but I said, 'She'll never know,' and you did!" Gunn said.
"You could actually probably do an autopsy," Pak said. "You really know your stuff!"
"Bones" was nominated for "Favorite TV Crime Drama" at Wednesday's awards show, but ultimately lost to ABC's "Castle." Deschanel herself has been nominated five other times for "Favorite TV Drama Actress," "Favorite TV Crime Fighter," "Best Actress," and twice for "Choice TV Actress."
Sandra Bullock and Justin Timberlake were the big winners at this year's People's Choice Awards. Bullock took home four awards for her performances in "The Heat" and "Gravity," including "Favorite Comedic Actress," "Favorite Movie Actress," and "Favorite Movie Duo," which she shared with George Clooney.
Timberlake racked up three wins, including "Favorite Album."
"Bones" returns with new episodes Friday at 8 p.m. EST.
