Elin Ersson's deportation "stand" on an airplane prevented the flight from taking off with an Afghan asylum-seeker who now remains in Sweden, at least temporarily.
Swedish student activist Ersson had purchased a ticket for the flight from that Goteborg she knew was removing him, then boarded and refused to sit down, all while live-streaming her protest to Facebook from inside the plane.
Speaking in English, she explained that the man was being deported to Afghanistan "where he will most likely get killed."
The video was widely shared on social media and had received some 2 million views by Wednesday.
The plane had been scheduled to fly to Istanbul and then on to Kabul.
The man and Ersson were eventually both removed from the plane after a tense stand-off.
German channel Deutsche Welle said the man was taken into custody and would still face deportation, while Ersson may face legal action.
