EL James, 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Author, Put on Blast in Twitter Q&A

E.L. James, the author of “Fifty Shades of Grey,” was ruthlessly skewered in a Twitter Q&A on Monday that was intended as a PR bonus for herself and a treat for her loyal fans.

The Q&A, which used the hashtag #AskELJames to connect James with her followers, showcased just how polarizing James’ controversial erotic fiction trilogy truly is as concerned critics and Internet trolls stepped up to the plate and chewed her out for her romanticized portrayal of deviant BDSM sexual practices, according to The Associated Press.

James’ nay-sayers bombarded her on topics ranging from her laughably horrendous prose to her upside-down, anti-feminist teachings and her implicit support for non-consensual sexual relationships in a showdown that will most likely hinder the writer from ever engaging in such a Q&A again, The Independent conjectured.

James’ first book was made into a blockbuster movie that premiered on Valentine’s Day of this year, and the final two books in her trilogy are also purportedly set to hit the silver screen despite the vitriolic responses from legions of readers and film watchers.
