The Eagles announced Tuesday they will tour North America in 2018 with a rotating list of big-name supporting acts including Jimmy Buffett, James Taylor, and Chris Stapleton.
The tour will have both arena and stadium shows, Billboard reported. Opening acts will only play the stadium shows. The arena shows are being billed as an “Evening with the Eagles.”
The tour opens in Chicago on March 17. Other locations will include Arlington, Texas, Denver, Nashville, Orlando, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.
It will be the band’s first tour since the death of lead singer Glenn Frey in 2015, although they did play some concerts over the summer.
In addition to original members Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit, Glenn Frey’s son Deacon Frey will join the band. Vince Gill also will be part of the touring band.
In a July interview with Rolling Stone, Walsh said the new members were doing well.
“I think we’re gonna be really good,” Walsh said. “The new guys [Deacon Frey and Vince Gill] have to get to the point where it’s automatic or it’s transparent.”
Eagles fans on Twitter were excited about the tour.
