Apple launched a new ad on its YouTube channel Monday featuring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson using Siri to assist with a series of larger-than-life tasks.

The nearly four-minute ad, titled “The Rock x Siri Dominate the Day,” was an attempt by Apple to shore up Siri’s flagging popularity ahead of Apple’s launch of new smart speaker HomePod this winter, according to New York Magazine.

In the ad, Johnson uses Siri to call a Lyft, take a flight to Rome to paint a church’s ceiling, go into space to take a selfie, and then show up to shoot a film.

Apple is facing stiff competition from Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant in the smart speaker market, and is hoping Forbes’ highest-paid actor of the year can lend his considerable clout to Apple’s voice offering.

Johnson did his part to stir up interest in the commercial, tweeting about it Sunday ahead of the launch.

Twitter fans were skeptical that even The Rock could get Siri to understand him consistently, and some chastised him for going over to the dark side, so to speak.
