A driver behind the wheel of a 2011 Ford Mustang was clocked at 208 MPH on Saturday before he was finally pulled over by a deputy.
An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper on the Kilpatrick Turnpike in Oklahoma City initially clocked the driver, 19-year-old Hector Fraire, at speeds of 84 and 85 MPH, KOKH Fox 25 reported.
The Kilpatrick Turnpike has a posted speed limit of 70 MPH along its entire length, says OKHighways.com.
According to police statements, the driver was then clocked at 176 and the top speed of 208 MPH while attempting to escape the officer.
"I've never seen a speed like that," OHP Capt. Paul Timmons told KOKH. "At that type of speed, the end result is going to be very bad."
Fraire was arrested on complaints of reckless driving and attempting to elude.
