Donald Trump is on the Minnesota ballot – but barely – after Republican officials there scrambled to get him on after media reports surfaced about the absence of his name.

The Republican presidential nominee's name did not appear on a sample ballot produced by Minnesota's secretary of state's office early Thursday, according to KARE-TV. The deadline to file a candidate is this coming Monday, noted The Hill.

"The Minnesota Republican Party is working closely with the secretary of state's office to certify Mr. Trump's nomination and the state party's electors to the Electoral College, and will finalize his ballot placement today, in advance of the Aug. 29 deadline," said Mike Lukach, Trump's Minnesota state director, according to the Star Tribune.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her running mate Tim Kaine appeared on the sample ballot, as did the Libertarian team of Gary Johnson and William Weld, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein and stand-in vice presidential candidate Howie Hawkins, noted KARE-TV.

Candidates from the Constitution Party, Legal Marijuana Now Party, Socialist Workers Party, American Delta Party, and Independence Party, also appeared on the sample ballot .

Minnesota political blogger Mike Brodkorb tweeted about the issue.

Later Thursday, Minnesota secretary of state spokesman Ryan Furlong confirmed that Trump will now appear on the ballot, according to CNN.

"We just received the last item. We were waiting for a pledge from one of the alternate electors," Furlong said. "The filing is complete and the Republican ticket should be listed on our site shortly."

"But the bottom line is still this: The state Republican Party messed up — and Trump was the one who took the hit," said Amber Phillips, a political writer for the Washington Post.
