The head of entertainment at NBC says Donald Trump won't be allowed to return to "Celebrity Apprentice."
During a press tour for the Television Critics Association in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, NBC entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt was asked if the GOP presidential nominee would be back if he loses in November.
Greenblatt bluntly responded: "No,"Entertainment Weekly magazine's online site reports.
"He would never be back on 'Celebrity Apprentice' as long as I'm here."
Greenblatt acknowledged Trump's celebrity profile helped boost the show, but doubts if that fueled his political rise.
"'Bedtime for Bonzo' helped [Ronald] Reagan, sort of, become a national prominent figure," Greenblatt said. "Gary Trudeau was predicting that Donald Trump would run for president 15 years ago, before he was on 'The Apprentice.' So you know, we were happy to have a show that was doing really well with a guy who was a big TV star, and it's impossible to predict where it goes from there."
"I think it's surprised all of us that he would want to do this, but I guess that's what's great about this country," Greenblatt added. "But I don't think that there's really that much of a correlation, one to the other."
NBC and Trump broke off relations after he declared his presidential run, including severing ties with Trump's beauty pageants, EW reports.
