Dolly Parton is an unsung hero. The country music icon recently saved the life of child star Talia Hill, and now the 9-year-old actress is opening up about the experience.
The incident took place during filming for the Netflix film "Christmas on the Square," which stars Parton, Talia, and her siblings Tristan and Tyson. In an interview with Inside Edition, Talia explained that she had gone off to find a cup of hot chocolate during breaks between filming. The directors then called for the cast to return to their positions and she was hurrying back but did not see danger approaching.
"So there was a vehicle moving, and I was walking, and then somebody grabbed me and pulled me back, and I looked up and it was Dolly Parton," Talia said. Parton, who plays an angel in the film, then told her, "Well, I am an angel, you know."
Talia said she was in shock after the terrifying ordeal, so Parton scooped her into her arms.
"She hugged me and shook me and said, 'I saved your life,'" she recalled. "And my mom was crying, like, 'Yes you did, Dolly Parton, yes you did.'"
Tristan's first time meeting Parton was under less frightening circumstances but it still made a massive impact on him.
"When you think of Dolly Parton, you are just like, 'It is Dolly Parton,' but when you actually see her you are like, 'Wow, it's Dolly Parton.' Being in her presence lifts you. She is so amazing," Tristan said.
"When Dolly walked in she smelled like heaven," added Talia. "She greeted everyone even if you were a trashcan person. It was such a great feeling."
