Boone the Labrador retriever photobombed his owner's wedding more than a week ago and now has become the delight of the Internet. A TV station’s website post of the picture went over eight million hits on Monday.
Illinois couple Angie Blumberg and Jayce Conway, both 30, were married on July 28 at the Rainbow Ranch Lodge in Big Sky, Montana, and Boone was there as part of the wedding party, the "Today" show reported.
"He's a really well-trained dog," Conway told "Today. "I planned for him to stand between me and my brother. Boone was technically the best man, but he couldn't really give a speech, so I thought I should give my brother a shot.”
"While everyone in the procession walked down the aisle, he stayed in his spot, exactly where he was supposed to be, until he saw Angie, and then he just couldn't resist going over to say 'Hi!'
The best part, though, happened during the ceremony itself while the all eyes were supposed to be on the couple as they exchanged vows.
"And then during the ceremony he decided to walk to the middle and roll happily in the grass a few times," Blumberg told "Today."
Conway said the photo making its way through the Internet was taken during opening prayer, "Today" said, and the couple was off camping at the Zion National Park in Utah as the photo went viral.
"We didn't really know it went viral until recently," Conway told "Today." "Last thing we knew, our friend, the photographer, texted us the photo on the night of our wedding and we were just dying laughing."
The couple, from Freeburg, Illinois, told KSDK-TV that Boone likes to be the center of attention and weren’t surprised he was such a social media hit. The television station said on Monday that the photo "has reached over eight million people" on its website.
Many on social media found the photo of Boone's grass roll funny and adorable.
