A conservative-themed event is scheduled to be held in the same city and during the same time period that the Democratic National Convention will take place.
On September 4-6, at the Time Warner Arena, Democrats will gather together for their Party’s convention in Charlotte, N.C., with President Barack Obama’s acceptance speech slated to take place at the Bank of America stadium.
On September 5, conservatives will be treated to an alternate event, “Rock the Red,” which is scheduled to be held at the nearby Bojangles Coliseum.
A host of country music stars will be featured at “Rock the Red,” along with a number of right-of-center speakers yet to be determined. Tickets with a starting price of $25 are already available on the “Rock the Red” website, with a limited number being offered without any TicketMaster fees.
The event will feature Travis Tritt, Lee Brice, and the Charlie Daniel’s Band.
The Values Bus sponsored by the Family Research Council and Heritage Foundation will be present outside the Bojangles Coliseum to register voters and distribute materials.
The website that is promoting the event is clear in its description of the event’s objective. Invoking one of the phrases frequently used by Minnesota congresswoman and former GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, the site encourages visitors to “Help us Make President Barack Obama a One Term President!”
