Leonardo DiCaprio Launches Online Campaign: ‘Vote 4 Stuff’

By    |   Monday, 01 October 2012 03:11 PM EDT

Leonardo DiCaprio, along with a number of other celebrities, has launched a new social media campaign called “Vote 4 Stuff.”

Among other things, the referenced “stuff” concerns issues that people would like to see discussed during the current presidential election season, according to a video that was posted on Monday.

The Vote 4 Stuff group intends to use its star power to encourage people to engage in social media activities, including the posting of pet causes, which would in turn be utilized in future Vote 4 Stuff online activities.

Appian Way, DiCaprio's production company, is a producer of the Vote 4 Stuff initiative, which boasts as team members additional celebrities including Selena Gomez, Ellen DeGeneres, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Tobey Maguire, Edward Norton, Sarah Silverman, Benicio Del Toro, Amanda Seyfried, Zac Efron, and Jonah Hill.

“This is one of the most important elections of our lifetime,” DiCaprio told The Associated Press. “We are using the power of social media throughout the Vote 4 Stuff campaign to incite bipartisan conversation around real issues, encourage registration and voting in November.”

Via the video, celebrities voice concerns about a number of topics including jobs, climate change, foreign policy, immigration, worker's rights, and teacher’s salaries.
