David Mueller, the radio disc jockey who was fired from his job at KYGO-FM for groping Taylor Swift has received a new gig at another radio station, USA Today reported.
Delta Radio CEO Larry Fuss does not believe the 2013 allegations holding Mueller accountable for sexually assaulting Swift during a meet-and-greet photo session and has hired the DJ on country music station KIX, The Washington Post noted.
In his new role Mueller hosts the morning show "Jackson and Jonbob" under the pseudonym "Jackson."
"I sat down with him face-to-face in Minneapolis before I offered him the job and talked to him about it," Fuss told the New York Daily News in a phone interview. "He's either the world's best liar, or he's telling the truth. I tend to believe his version of the story and most people who have talked to him face-to-face do believe his version of the story."
Fuss further defended his decision to NBC News, claiming that "we hired him solely because we were able to get a guy who had major market experience to work at our little radio station in Mississippi. … The fact that he's a genuine guy, he sounds good on air, he's friendly, relatable. Just a good radio guy."
Mueller has denied the accusations against him and attempted to sue Swift for $3 million, The Washington Post reported.
Swift countersued for one dollar and won.
"I remember being frantic, distressed, feeling violated in a way I had never experienced before," Swift said during the trial, per The Washington Post.
News of Mueller's hiring has been met with backlash on social media but Fuss has dismissed this, stating that those posting critical comments "need to get a life," The New York Daily News noted.
"It's all originating from some Taylor Swift fan group somewhere," he said. "It's just people who don't have a clue, or don't really have any knowledge of the facts."
