David Beckham Accident: Soccer Star, Son Walk Away From Crash

By    |   Monday, 01 December 2014 08:39 AM EST

David Beckham and his son apparently were just shaken up in a weekend accident after the ex-soccer star and captain of the English national team had picked up 15-year-old Brooklyn Beckham from a soccer match.

The BBC News reported that the accident happened in London Colney, Hertfordshire, and involved Beckham's grey Audi RS6 which collided with a silver Mitsubishi Colt on Saturday afternoon. Authorities told BBC News that the male driver, who they initially would not confirm as Beckham, was slightly injured.

The unidentified female driver in the other vehicle was taken to a hospital and her condition was not reported.

"David Beckham looks like he got in a car crash and hurt his shoulder," Archie Davies tweeted, The Independent reported,.

Thomas Cadman, who played against Brooklyn Beckham, tweeted, "Even weirder to be currently stuck behind David Beckham as he has crashed his car."

Brooklyn Beckham was a member of Arsenal's under-16 soccer team on a short-term contract.

David and Brooklyn Beckham were able to walk away from the accident "shaken" but without injuries, a source close to the family told The Telegraph.

"They were shaken. It was quite a heavy prang at quite a speed but everybody walked away uninjured," the source said. "Everybody’s fine. Thankfully the car’s airbags deployed."

Last month, Brooklyn Beckham signed with Arsenel, despite receiving attention from his father's former soccer club Manchester United and Chelsea, according to The Telegraph.

"Brooklyn is talented and he has stood out in all of the training sessions and games he has played," a source said. "He has had other teams sniffing around and it was always going to be a case of when, not if, he was signed up by a big-name club.
