In "Dancing With the Stars" Monday, Olympic skater Nancy Kerrigan could not beat out another Olympian Simone Biles in a dance-off and was later eliminated from competition from ABC's live reality dance competition.
Kerrigan, who won a bronze medal in 1992 and silver in 1994, was edged out by 2016 gold medal-winning gymnast Biles and her dance partner Sasha Farber in a dance off, forcing her to face a rare double elimination, People magazine noted.
Under the theme "A Night at the Movies," Kerrigan and her dance partner Artem Chigvintsev received 36 of 40 points for their routine based on the film "Pretty Woman." Writer Justin Kirkland wrote for USA Today that Kerrigan's tango should have been enough to keep her on the show.
"Nancy should have been a final three shoo-in, but after last week's worthless elimination, anything was possible," Kirkland wrote for USA Today. "This week, if there was any justice, she would have been fine, but alas. Her romance tango takes us to the point we all knew Nancy could get to — a perfect mix of fun and precision. The judges still found a way to keep her from a 10, which was as criminal as kicking Julia Roberts off of Rodeo Drive."
Kerrigan, though, was eliminated with former "Bachelor" Nick Viall and his dance partner Peta Murgatroyd, noted People.
"The whole experience has been amazing," Kerrigan, 47, said after she was eliminated, according to People. "Spending it with Artem, this has been fantastic."
The celebrity dancers remaining in the competition are Biles, Rashad Jennings, Normani Kordei, David Ross and Bonner Bolton.
