Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio released summary pages from their tax filings on Saturday, and challenged Donald Trump to do the same.
"We're putting these out today to put pressure on Trump and the other candidates to release theirs," said Rubio campaign spokesman Alex Conant,
The Associated Press reported.
"It is time to stop the excuses," Cruz said in a statement,
NBC News reported.
Trump has made promises to release his tax returns, as every major party candidate since 1976 has done, but more recently has said he won't release the information until the IRS finishes its audit.
After the most recent Republican primary debate, Trump said that he thinks the IRS may be targeting him because he's a "strong Christian."
Past presidential candidate Mitt Romney said earlier this month that Trump's taxes may contain a "bombshell," which could explain why he appears reluctant.
Cruz has echoed that sentiment, saying there could be "a number of bombshells" in Trump's taxes. The taxes could show that Trump's net worth is less than he claims, or might include "significant contributions to Planned Parenthood," he said.
"There have been multiple media reports about Donald's business dealings with the mob, with the mafia,"
Cruz said Sunday on ABC's "This Week." "Maybe his tax returns show that those business dealings are a lot more extensive than reported. We don't know."
"In the general election, Hillary Clinton is going to shine a light on all of this and Republican primary voters deserve to know," Cruz added.
