Police are on the hunt for the crooks who stole electronics from a 5-year-old brain cancer patient's St. Louis home.

Burglars reportedly bypassed a "mountain of Christmas presents" and went straight to Kamareon Smith's bedroom, the boy's mother, Quinetta Smith, told KSDK.com, adding that they took a donated PlayStation 4, games, and two televisions. One of the television sets was a gift from a hospital organization that had been helping the family.

"They adopted him and brought him multiple gifts and things for him to have a good Christmas and the one thing that he likes to do, watch TV his TV is gone," Quinetta Smith told KSDK.

Kamareon Smith was diagnosed with a brain tumor eight months ago, and his mother said her family is struggling as she tries to care for him. He has chemotherapy treatments every Thursday, she said.

On a TeamKamareon Facebook page maintained for the boy, an administrator said this wasn’t the first time someone broke into the apartment. The first time, Kamareon Smith’s piggy bank was stolen.

"All items from this point forward will be kept in a separate place so they can not be stolen again. All we want to do is give this boy an amazing Christmas and it is real sad when he can not even take the items home with them for in fear of them be stolen," the administrator wrote. "Keep your head up little man you have a lot of people looking out for you!"

The family has a GoFundMe page, set up in November, to collect for Kamareon Smith’s Christmas, the page administrator said. Since the news of this break-in, the administrator said many are contacting her to see how to help, and if they can send the family a Christmas card.
