A cow truck overturned on I-20 in Mississippi early Friday morning, leaving about 40 cows wandering the roads around Jackson and causing a number of accidents.
WJTV reported that the driver of a semi-truck almost missed his turn and, when he attempted to turn at the last minute, his truck flipped over. The driver received minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Fox 8 said a vehicle hit one of the stray cows, and there were minor injuries in connection with that accident.
Authorities brought in additional animal trailers and herders to round up the 100-some cows that were on the semi-truck.
Authorities tied them to road signs and rounded them up in convenience store parking lots throughout the morning. By 10:15 a.m., Fox 8 reported, 94 cows had been reloaded onto trailers. The station said police thought one cow was killed in the accident.
Authorities warned people to be on the lookout for remaining cows.
