Courtney Ann Sanford, a 32-year-old North Carolina woman, died in a car crash last week moments after posting a Facebook status about being "happy."
It appears that Sanford, of Clemmons, N.C., was updating her Facebook status as she drove down Business 85 Thursday morning. But uploading the post — "The happy song makes me HAPPY," referring to Pharrell's infectious hit — reportedly caused her to cross over the median and hit a pickup truck head-on.
"The Facebook text happened at 8:33 a.m. We got the call on the wreck at 8:34 a.m.,"
High Point Police Department Lt. Chris Weisner told MyFox8.com. "In a matter of seconds, a life was over just so she could notify some friends that she was happy."

Police also said that Sanford was posting a handful of selfies on Facebook prior to the crash.
"As sad as it is, it is a grim reminder for everyone . . . you just have to pay attention while you are in the car," Weisner said.
The driver of the pickup truck, 73-year-old John Wallace Thompson, was uninjured, according to MyFox8.com.
Weisner noted that while Sanford was wearing her seatbelt, she was not using it properly.
The woman's family
memorialized her with a quote included in her obituary.
"Courtney felt that with each passing the universe gained a new star. May her star shine bright."
