Corey Sligh Beaten in Parking Lot While Dropping Off Dinner

By    |   Monday, 01 December 2014 06:23 AM EST

Corey Sligh of "The Young and the Restless" was attacked and beaten in a West Hollywood parking lot while the actor and model was delivering a Thanksgiving meal to a friend.

Sligh, 27, was with his girlfriend Alisa Berhorst and bringing dinner to a friend working the holiday shift at a Rite-Aid store when they got into a confrontation with two men, KCAL-TV reported.

Berhorst told the television station that their car was doing donuts in the parking lot and nearly hit them. She said Sligh told the men to slow down before they hit him with the car.

Los Angeles police told KCAL-TV that the men exited the vehicle and then began beating Sligh before leaving.

"The guy walked up on him like 'I'm in the mood to kill somebody and this is who it's going to be because he told me to be careful and slow down and go away," Berhorst said.

A witness followed the suspects, who crashed their vehicle a short distance from the scene where they were arrested. Both have been charged to felony assault, reported E! News.

Sligh, who plays a bartender on "The Young and the Restless," was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He suffered a broken arm

"Hey kids, went to feed some people last night who don't have blessed thanksgivings and along the way got struck by a drunk driver," Sligh wrote on Instagram with a photo of him at Cedars-Sinai. "Have a surgery to go and another couple days in the hospital but should be fine soon! Thankful to still be on this great planet! Love y'all!"

Sligh also tried to show a sense of humor about the incident and the news around it with a Twitter post on Saturday.
