Cor Pan, a Dutch man who was reportedly aboard the ill-fated Malaysian Airlines plane that was shot down in Ukraine Thursday, posted a chilling premonition on his Facebook page moments before boarding the flight.
Pan, whose surname is listed as Schilder in other places online, posted a picture of the Malaysia Airlines plane before it departed from Schiphol Airport near
Amsterdam Thursday, according to The Washington Post. The caption, written in Dutch, translates roughly to, "Should it disappear, this is what it looks like" — an apparent joke about Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which went missing in March.

MH 17 went down in a rebel-controlled area of eastern Ukraine late Thursday morning (EST), presumably shot down by a
missile in the war-torn territory, CNN reported. All 298 people on board perished.
That includes Cor Pan and girlfriend Neeltje Tol, who were traveling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur for vacation, according to The Post. Pan and Tol both lived in Volendam, in the Netherlands, according to their Facebook profiles.
After news of the plane downing broke on international media outlets, the couple's Facebook friends flooded Pan's post with emotional comments and sympathies.
"Rest in Peace," read one post.
"Goosebumps," another said.
Many others on social media began leaving messages of condolences to their friends who had been aboard the plane.
