Connie Sawyer, known as Hollywood's oldest working actress at 105, died at her home in Woodland Hills, California, Deadline Hollywood reported Monday.
Sawyer had more than 140 television and film credits and had worked through late 2017, Deadline said. People magazine wrote that she was the oldest working member of the Screen Actors Guild and had previously resided at the Motion Picture & Television Fund's residential community for entertainment industry retirees in Los Angeles.
Her credits included "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," "Hawaii Five-O," "Dynasty," "Murder, She Wrote," "Archie Bunker's Place," "Home Improvement," "Seinfeld," "Will & Grace," "ER," "The Office," and "How I Met Your Mother," Deadline said.
The website reported that Sawyer most recently she appeared on Showtime's "Ray Donovan" as James Woods' mother.
People wrote that she appeared in the television series "2 Broke Girls" in 2012, "NCIS: Los Angeles" in 2013, and "New Girl" in 2014. Sawyer performed on Broadway in the 1950s when she was spotted by Frank Sinatra's manager for a film role, People said.
She was best known for her role in pictures "Dumb and Dumber," "The Pineapple Express," and "When Harry Met Sally," People said.
"There aren’t that many people around who are 105," Sawyer, who was also an Oscar voter, told People in November. "I always say you have to move, you have to get off the couch. I used to swim, play golf, tap dance, line dance — I was always moving and I was lucky.
"My parents lived a long time. Papa died at 91 and my mama was 89, so I had good genes too. That's the reason. … I go to exercise class, I go to all the (Motion Picture & Television Fund's residential community) parties that they throw, I go to all the dinners, I go to all the shows. Sometimes I'll see movies twice to make sure I want to vote for them, I'm very serious about (Academy Award voting)."
