Sen. Chuck Schumer's giant pillow appears to go wherever he goes, even in airports, as was witnessed recently, according to Page Six.
An anonymous tipster told the news outlet that the senior senator for New York was seen dashing through a city airport in a dark blazer, carrying his own pillow.
It was not just any pillow, but reportedly a full-size, white bed pillow and while this may seem somewhat out of the norm for Schumer, it is understandable.
Recently it emerged that the on-flight pillows and blankets provided by airlines are rarely fresh but instead refolded and reused, according to a report by Express.
"I worked for Southwest as a flight attendant," one Reddit user, 'mehow44', wrote. "Those blankets and pillows? Yeah, those just get refolded and stuffed back in the bins between flights."
The Reddit user added that the "only fresh ones I ever saw were on an originating first flight in the morning in a provisioning city," Express noted.
In light of this, Schumer can be forgiven for carrying his own pillow along as he races off to his next appointment, which happened to be a news conference in Babylon, New York, on Monday, where he announced his proposed bill to save the T-Band signal used by emergency responders on Long Island, Newsday reported.
The signal system is used by firefighters, police and EMS workers to communicate with each other but the FCC was directed to auction the UHF T-band spectrum by 2021.
"Whether it's a heroin bust in Nassau or a blaze in Suffolk or an emergency medical response to save the life of a mom or dad, T-Band has been the way that Long Islanders respond," Schumer said on the matter, according to Newsday. "The FCC is saying to all our first responders, 'Move out of your old house and move into a new one.' A new one isn't built."
