It's President Donald Trump's determination that will propel him to a successful presidency, but it's his "remarkable" humility that connects him to millions of Americans, Newsmax founder and CEO Christopher Ruddy told Forbes.
In a Q&A with Miguel Forbes, Ruddy talked up that trait:
"The most remarkable thing about Donald Trump is actually his humility. I realize some people might find that hard to believe, but at times he can be incredibly humble," Ruddy told Forbes.
"I think this has been an important part of his success, and how he, despite being a billionaire, can relate to the 'average Joe' or 'average Jane,'" Ruddy added.
Ruddy has been friends with Trump for longer than a decade and said it's important to look past Trump's persona and instead focus on what he actually does.
"He is laser-focused on results for the country," Ruddy said. "He really wants to improve the job situation here. That's his No. 1 priority, domestically. He is a very determined man. Perhaps the most determined I have ever met. I think he will succeed here."
Ruddy also touched on the secret to the success of Newsmax, telling Forbes it's important to "ignore what everyone else is doing and stick to core approaches and focus on revenue."
For example, the media screams millennials and social media, but ignores what matters most: revenue and the people who provide it. And that is the 50-plus group, "the largest demographic group in the nation with the highest disposable income," Ruddy said.
