Christian Bale is reportedly at the top of director David Fincher’s preferred list of actors to play Steve Jobs in an
upcoming movie about the Apple co-founder, according to The Wrap.
Aaron Sorkin, who wrote “The Social Network,” which Fincher also directed, wrote the screenplay for the new Steve Jobs film that is said to be an improvement over the Jobs movie released in 2013 starring Ashton Kutcher. Sorkin’s version is based on Walter Isaacson's bestselling authorized biography about Jobs.

According to The Wrap, Sorkin’s script includes long scenes about Apple's product launches, including the Mac and the iPod.
Bale reportedly hasn’t been approached about playing Jobs yet, as the actor is taking a break to spend time with his family after shooting Ridley Scott’s “Exodus” where he played Moses. Production on the Jobs movie would likely begin sometime next year.
Bale won an Oscar, Golden Globe, and SAG award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as washed-up boxer Dickie Eklund in “The Fighter.” He was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role of con man Irving Rosenfeld in “American Hustle.”
Jobs resigned from Apple in August 2011 and died in October of that year after complications from a pancreatic tumor he been diagnosed with in 2003.
