Singer Chris Brown was arrested yet again late Thursday night after doing a concert in West Palm Beach, Florida. Police were waiting with an outstanding felony battery arrest warrant issued in Tampa last year.
Brown had wrapped up his performance at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre when authorities took him into custody on the warrant issued by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, WFTS-TV reported.
The singer, who has been in repeated trouble for violence, was released from the Palm Beach County Jail after posting a $2,000 bond, WPTV reported.
WFTS-TV said the warrant stemmed from an April 2017 incident in which photographer Bennie L. Vines, 38, charged that Brown "sucker punched" him at an after-hours event where Brown was paid to appear.
The incident was captured on camera by another man who went to the club to see Brown. Vines was working with AJA Channelside at the time of the incident.
Brown was expected to return to Tampa to perform at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fairgrounds on Friday.
The singer has been dogged by his 2009 assault of singer Rihanna, who was then his girlfriend. He completed probation for the assault in 2015, CBS News reported, and then two years ago he was arrested at his Los Angeles-area home after he allegedly assaulted former beauty pageant contestant Baylee Curran.
Brown had been ordered into rehab after a 2013 incident in which he reportedly hit a man outside a Washington, D.C. hotel and for which he charged with misdemeanor assault, CBS News said. After breaking the rules of the rehab, he spent 2½ months in custody.
While in treatment, Brown was accused of throwing a brick at his mother's car following a counseling session – reportedly after completing court-ordered anger management classes, CBS News said.
In 2012 in New York City, Brown reportedly was involved in a fight with rapper Drake and his entourage during which San Antonio Spurs basketball star Tony Parker was injured.
In January 2013, Los Angeles police were called to the scene of a fight involving Brown and singer Frank Ocean over a parking spot, but Ocean declined to file charges.
