Chloe Grace Moretz: My Brothers Were Bullied For Being Gay (Video)

By    |   Wednesday, 11 September 2013 11:49 AM EDT

Chloe Grace Moretz, the 16-year-old star of "Kick-Ass 2," is speaking out about bullying, and revealing how her own brothers used to be "horrifically" targeted for being gay.

"I have two gay brothers and two straight brothers, and my gay brothers were treated horrifically until they grew up and understood how to deal with it," Moretz told Seventeen magazine in a cover story for the October issue. "I will delete you and I will block you, and you will not be a part of my life if you ever say anything bad about my brothers."

Moretz also said she and her family share an extremely close bond.

"Never choose your friends over your family or a boyfriend or girlfriend over the family," she said. "My mom has always taught us that blood is thicker than water. No one will ever understand the dynamic of your family. Ever. We are the closest family ever and we are the most insane family ever."

Moretz has been an open supporter of gay rights in the past. Back in March, ahead of the Supreme Court's hearings on same-sex marriage, the actress posted a photo of a red equal sign to her Twitter account in support of equality.

Moretz's "Kick-Ass 2" is currently in theaters, and she will also star in the remake of the 1976 horror classic "Carrie," which premieres next month.
