Twenty-three people were injured at a Chicago anniversary party attack late Saturday night when someone discharged a mace-like substance into the yard.
No one was seriously
injured in the attack, although the Chicago Tribune said 23 people at the party were treated for skin irritation. Many of those hurt were children.

The family was gathered in a front yard in the Gage Park neighborhood, celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary. A relative told the Tribune they weren’t sure why someone would spray the group.
CBS Chicago said the substance used in the attack could also have been pepper spray.
Police told CBS Chicago that no one has been arrested regarding the incident. A Chicago Fire Department official said the 23 people were treated at several area hospitals, and were expected to be released during the night. Authorities also confirmed that it was a foreign substance that was unknown.
