"Chevy Guy," better known as Chevrolet representative Rikk Wilde, is the Internet's newest viral star after he nervously presented San Francisco Giants MVP Madison Bumgarner with a new truck during Wednesday's post-World Series telecast.
Wilde stammered through his remarks after the Giants beat the Kansas City Royals 3-2 in Game 7 of the World Series.
"Wilde was on hand to present Bumgarner with a well-deserved MVP award, which, as it is sponsored by Chevrolet, also comes with a
new [truck]," The Washington Post reported. "And let's just say that, unlike Bumgarner, Wilde was a tad less than cool under World Series pressure."
At times out-of-breath and red in the face, Wilde "umm-ed" and "uhh-ed" his way through the presentation, describing the vehicle as having "umm, you know, technology and stuff."
"Chevy Guy gave it his best shot," the New York Post wrote. "Rikk Wilde, the Chevrolet executive tasked with presenting Bumgarner a truck as his MVP prize, stumbled and sighed his way through a painful nationally televised spiel that even his notecards couldn't save."
Social media could not get enough of Chevy Guy, likening him to former Toronto Mayor Rob Ford and the late comedian Chris Farley.
